When eaten, they protect the eye\u00a0from being damaged by ultraviolet light. This reduces the risk of age-related macular degeneration and the formation of cataracts.<\/li>\n<li>Eggs make you feel fuller\u00a0for longer. Research has shown that when people eat eggs for breakfast, they\u00a0consume fewer calories at lunch.<\/li>\n<li>The high-quality protein in eggs results in better adherence to the diet and greater weight loss over time, and helps maintain muscle tissue during weight loss.<\/li>\n<li>Eggs are an affordable source of high-quality animal protein.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>But what about cholesterol?<\/h3>\n<p>Eggs can modestly raise the levels of both \u201cgood\u201d and \u201cbad\u201d cholesterol, but they won\u2019t affect the ratio\u00a0of good to bad, which\u00a0is\u00a0the determinant of heart disease risk.
