Chrisna’s family of three, left the UK to move back to South Africa in April 2011 and she joined the DAW team in 2012 and has an absolute passion for children, their health and growth and the importance good nutrition plays in this. Having two of her own children, as well as with one on the way, she feels that this helps her relate to parents in wanting the best for their children, which drives her to do just that: Provide the best possible nutritional care for moms, dads and kids.
She started her own Business – LEAP Moms and Kidz – in 2012 where she delivers courses, provides talks, develops pre-school menus and also run her own practice from home in Centurion. She is also a member of the Woolworths Dietitians Network who delivers talks at schools and provides supermarket tours to moms, as part of the Making a Difference Programme.
Chrisna graduated at the University of Pretoria in 2002 where after she completed her community service year in Whiteriver. She then decided to go overseas in order to gain international experience in Dietetics and started working as a Paediatric Dietitian in the UK in 2004. She has worked in a variety of settings including community and acute as well as schools.
Areas of Paediatrics she worked in includes endocrine, neurology, paediatric intensive care, respiratory, surgical, haematology, oncology, neonatology, allergies, general paediatrics, diabetes and obesity. She formed part of a few multi-disciplinary teams which included diabetes, allergy, feeding and obesity clinics. Her last position in the UK included working as a childhood obesity specialist where she developed a variety of programs and courses and delivered training to professionals as well as ran healthy eating courses for parents.
Chrisna is a mom of two toddler girls. Being a mom and wife is her first and foremost profession.
