My passion is wellness and a healthy lifestyle, which is the reason I decided to study BSc Dietetics at North-West University. After completion of my degree, which included a 3-month internship at Leratong Hospital (where I learnt about a wide scope of diseases), I did my community service year at Paardekraal Hospital. The focus was on paediatric patients and chronic non-communicable diseases e.g. overweight/obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
I have gained experience in corporate wellness, health screening and assessment, and providing individualized nutrition education as well as group counselling.
I am a member of HPCSA and ADSA and a firm believer of continuous learning, especially in our profession as nutrition is not revolutionary but evolutionary.
Nutrition, education and great passion for people are my priorities. Therefore I love to cook and spend time in the kitchen making tasty healthy recipes for family and friends to enjoy.
I believe in a holistic approach when it comes to nutrition intervention and change, taking into consideration stress, sleep, daily activity, support and medical history. I seek sustainable change when it comes to forming healthy habits and know all is possible with an educated mind set.
Food is not just calories, it is information. It talks to your DNA and tells it what to do. The most powerful tool to change your health, environment and world is your fork. – Dr. Mark Hyman
